At the WTA event in Montreal on Friday, also known as the National Bank Open presented by Rogers, recent Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova will be in action, and the American will be up against a British player in Emma Raducanu, who like Anisimova has a Grand Slam final on her CV, the only difference being that she got the job done.
Since showcasing her clear and obviouos talent when winning the US Open back in late 2021, Raducanu has been very up and down, but in the last few months, she seems to have found some consistency, winning much more than she loses, while she's clearly thriving back on a hard surface at present, winning five out of six since switching back to this surface post Wimbledon.
Anisimova returned to the court after her humbling experience in the Wimbledon final by beating Lulu Sun in straight sets, and she'll now be looking to kick on, but beating a hard-court player of Raducanu's ability will likely require the world number seven to be at her best.
