Alexander Volkov (39-11-0) will put his #2 ranking on the line in the heavyweight division when he faces the #4-ranked Waldo Cortes Acosta on the main card of UFC 328.
Cortes Acosta has won his last 3 fights, all 3 coming via KO/TKO. While the finishes are impressive, they did not come against top-tier opponents. Derrick Lewis had his best victory which was in his latest fight, but even Lewis does not offer the same style and threat that Volkov offers in this matchup. And even though Cortes Acosta has 3 recent finishes, the majority of his wins and all of his losses have come via decision. It is unlikely that Volkov will allow himself to get in trouble early in this one.
