There will be a repeat of each fighter’s last contest taking place at UFC Fight Night this Saturday night. Alex Perez and Sumudaerji will get a chance to finally decide a winner after their previous fight back in May that ended in a no-contest.
Perez had some success early in the last meeting but was then tagged in the 2nd round. The punch dropped him, and Sumudaerji looked to be in control. However, an incidental low kick to the groin left Perez unable to continue the fight and forced the referee to stop the fight.
Sumudaerji had been on a 3-fight winning streak before these two met in May. He is currently ranked in the top 15 and is hoping to sneak into the top 10 with a strong performance in this one. Conversely, Perez had lost 2 of his last 3 fights and found himself on the outside looking in on the top 15. He did pick up an impressive finish of Charles Johnson in his last fight before the no-contest. It was the 1st time anyone had finished KO/TKO’d him in his career.
