The No. 5 Vanderbilt Commodores (25-3, 11-3 SEC) will close out the home part of their regular season schedule tonight when they face the No. 24 Alabama Crimson Tide at the Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, TN. Fans can follow the action on the SEC Network once the game gets underway at 7:30 p.m. EST.
Vanderbilt started the season 20-0 before losing their first game of the season against No. 2 South Carolina, 103-74. They had some trouble against No. 17 Ole Miss in their next game and dropped their second, 83-75. But since then, they’ve been back on track, winning five of their last six games, including a solid victory against No. 4 Texas, 86-70. They squeaked past No. 16 Kentucky in their last game (Feb. 22), 81-79. As for Alabama, the Crimson Tide didn’t wait as long to lose their first game, but did so against the same team. They lost to South Carolina on New Year’s Day, 83-57. The SEC schedule has been a little tough for them. With the win over Florida, 76-71, in their last game (Feb. 22), they improved to 7-7. They had lost three in a row prior to that game, another one to South Carolina, vs. Oklahoma, and vs. Texas A&M.

Our Vanderbilt Commodores vs Alabama Crimson Tide Prediction
Alabama has a good squad that can put up some points (70 ppg this season) and isn’t bad on defense (60 ppg allowed). But they will not be able to keep Vanderbilt’s top ten offense contained for long (No. 8, 84.8 ppg). The Commodores will have a small lead at the break and may even be behind. Vanderbilt will take control in the second half and put the Tide away.
Our Alabama vs. Vanderbilt Pick: Commodores -10.5
