A few hours after Linda Noskova and Tatjana Maria clash, the final match of the night will take place. This match sees Alja Tomljanovic go up against Ekaterina Alexandrova in what, on paper at least, looks like a very tough match for the Australian, who is ranked significantly lower than her Russian opponent. However, she's battled hard in some very tricky matches of late, taking a set from world number 15 Clara Tauson as recently as this month, so we probably shouldn't be too stunned if she manages to compete here.
Alexandrova is a high-ranking player, sure, but she tends to be below her best on quite a regular basis. Last time out, she lost to a lower-ranked player, while she now hasn't played a competitive match for a week. Therefore, it's not overly difficult to see her struggling a little more than the early odds suggest against a player who has had the benefit of already playing at this tournament.
