The Los Angeles Rams face a must-win situation to keep themselves on track for the No. 5 seed when they visit the Atlanta Falcons. The Rams can no longer win the NFC West because Seattle and San Francisco end the year with each other, but they can give themselves an easier road to the playoffs by improving their seed. Beating the Falcons and Arizona would set Los Angeles up to play the NFC South champion first, and an upset elsewhere could give them an easier matchup in round 2 and beyond.
The Rams have put themselves in this position because Matthew Stafford has moved the offense almost every time he’s stepped on the field. Los Angeles isn’t quite up to the Greatest Show on Turf days of the 1999 Super Bowl champions, but these Rams aren’t far off. L.A. is leading the NFL in scoring at just over 30 points per game.
