After all the drama in Los Angeles in the controversial Dodgers-Padres series, the Dodgers stayed in California to wait for the Nationals. In April, the Nats ended the Dodgers' strong run in DC, winning the first game of the series at Nationals Park 6-2 and then 8-2. However, the reigning champions already tied their series against the Nats, winning 6-5 in the series finale and again by the same score in the series opener at Dodgers Stadium.
However, Dodgers runline bettors should think twice before placing their bets when they play the Nats, as the Dodgers, despite starting as favorites with odds of -184 and -181 in their last two games against Washington, did not cover the runline. In fact, they haven't covered the runline against the Nats since an 11-2 thrashing on April 24 of 2024.
Kershaw pitched in Game 1, posting a 5.0 IP and 2 ER line, while Gore pitched 5.2 but allowed 5 ER. Rojas only hit one home run in the win; Ohtani went 1 for 3 with an RBI.
