Unpredictable is the perfect word to describe the Astros in their last six games. They went to Los Angeles and destroyed the Dodgers' pitching in a spectacular series by Altuve and won all three games on the West Coast, having started as betting underdogs of +140 or higher in each game. However, the opposite occurred on their return to Houston. The Astros were expected to sweep the strugglin' Guardians, but the Astros lost all three games of the series as betting favorites, giving up an unusual number of home runs.
In mid-May, the Astros already had a four-game series at Globe Life Field against the Rangers, in a series they split two games each. Now, starting Friday, they will begin a new series in Houston with Leiter starting for the Rangers and McCullers starting for the Astros.
