The first Braves-Mets game of the season will finally take place after an epic final series of the 2024 season that gave the Mets a playoff berth. From that point on, the wind began to blow in favor of the New Yorkers, who reached the National League Championship Series against the Dodgers, and in the offseason not only re-signed Alonso but also signed Soto.

Both teams have already played more than 70 games this season. The Mets' season has been very successful, with a 45-27 record and an excellent bullpen that has won almost every close game. Lindor is hitting .279, Alonso .293, and Soto .247.

The opposite happened for the Braves, who received bad news like Profar's doping suspension, suffered multiple injuries, started the season with an 0-7 record, and Acuña, the team's undisputed star, didn't return from his injury until May.

However, Venezuelan Acuña returned as if he had never left, hitting .390 in 77 AB, so it seems almost certain that the Braves will win a few more games this month.
