The Columbus Crew face CF Montreal, with the home side finally showing some capability of hitting the back of the net. Montreal has been the weakest attack in MLS this season, but has scored four goals in its past three matches. Granted, one of those was a cup match and the stakes were totally different, but the point still holds.
Montreal also has a strong history of figuring out its attack when it sees the Black and Gold of Columbus. In 14 of their past 16 meetings with the Crew, Montreal have found the back of the net. That said, if a goal comes, there’s a high chance it’s coming in the second half. The hosts do their best work right after halftime, as four of their six MLS markers have come between the 45th and 60th minutes.

Columbus has had no problems whatsoever finding the back of the net this year. The Crew have also shown no problem collecting points away from Ohio. In their past four matches on the road, the Crew are unbeaten and have picked up eight points.
Just as important, Columbus has brought its attack each time. The Crew have scored seven goals in those meetings, and only a 1-1 draw with San Diego saw Columbus fail to score at least twice. Given the Crew’s history against Montreal, it’s likely that this will be another high-scoring affair. Montreal’s already played out a 2-1 loss to Columbus this season in Ohio, and a similar result might be in the cards here.
