Thursday's Champions League action is highlighted by a blockbuster clash between Manchester City and Serie A champions Napoli. City have had an up-and-down start to the new season, but Sunday's resounding 3-0 success over Manchester City will have given them a huge confidence boost. Erling Haaland was the star of the show in that derby day victory, with two goals and an outstanding all round display, but City boss Pep Guardiola will also have been delighted by his side's overall performance following two disappointing defeats.
City will need to be at their best again on Thursday, as they face an in-form Napoli side that have started the Serie A season with three consecutive victories. Their latest success came courtesy of a comfortable 1-3 win at Fiorentina, with new signing Rasmus Højlund marking his debut with a well-taken goal. With the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Scott McTominay and Frank Anguissa also in excellent form, Napoli will be confident of mounting a serious challenge for Champions League glory.
