The Los Angeles Angels will go for a rare three-game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday at Dodger Stadium.
The Angels has gotten the better of their freeway rivals in the past two games, scoring 6-2 win in Game 1 and 11-9 win in Game 2. After smothering the loaded Angels batting corps to only two runs in the series opener, the LA Angels banked on their big bats in the next game as catcher Logan O’Hoppe drove in 5 runs to fuel his team’s offensive barrage on Saturday.
The Dodgers, meanwhile, suffered another defeat but this one hurt more since it was the season debut of the returning Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw lasted for only 4 innings as the Angels pounced on his predictable pitches, scoring five runs off of him. The Angels entered the series as one of the worst batting and pitching teams in baseball, but we are seeing an inspired Angels teams over the past 2 days.
