After a disappointing grass-court season, 2025 French Open semifinalist Lois Boisson is back on clay competing at the MSC Ladies Hamburg Open. She will take on Julia Grabher of Austria on Tuesday.
Boisson, the breakthrough star of this year’s French Open following a scintillating run to the semifinals on the clay-court Slam, hopes to regain his footing following a disappointing grass-court campaign that saw her eliminated as early as the first qualification match for the main draw of the Wimbledon Open. Furthermore, the struggle appears to have spilled over onto the clay, evidenced by the Frenchwoman crashing out in the second round of her last tournament at the Bastad Open.
Grabher is also amid a three-match slump, having recently lost in the first round of the Bastad Open to Leyre Romero Gormaz 2-6, 3-6 in the first round. Grabher is a 29-year-old veteran on the tour who once rose to the world’s No.58 in 2023. She has a 65 percent win rate on clay and an impressive 29-7 record on the surface in 2025.

Our Lois Boisson vs Julia Grabher Prediction
Why should you pick Julia Grabher to win? – The popular choice to win is Lois Boisson, the 2025 French Open semifinalist. But I dare you not to discount the veteran Grabher, especially on clay, where she holds a career with a 65 percent win rate and a rock-solid 29-7 record this season. Boisson may have been the toast of French tennis for her feat at Roland Garros, but results outside that tournament reveal she’s still far from establishing herself as a star on the tour because of inconsistency. You could see Boisson rack up six consecutive wins in a tournament, only to bomb out in the first round of the next competition. This unpredictable pattern of extreme highs and lows has defined her tennis career. Unheralded as she may be, Grabher brings her valuable experience and clay-court prowess into her first-round clash with Boisson, whose erratic form raises the question of whether she will ever reach her full potential.
