One of Wednesday's Women's US Open matches that I like the look of from a betting viewpoint is the one between Jelena Ostapenko and Taylor Townsend. This is a very interesting match. If we were to glance at the rankings, we could assume that the Latvian would ease to a win. After all, she's ranked over 100 places above her opponent. However, Ostapenko, despite being a hugely talented player, has developed a habit of failing to deliver in matches of this nature, while she's up against a Taylor Townsend who has been in resurgent form of late, winning seven out of nine matches since the grass-court season came to a close. It's absolutely fair to say that the American competitor is a much better player than her current ranking, so don't be fooled by that.
