On Wednesday afternoon, the Brewers could aim to sweep the Astros at American Family Field. Both teams have a close record, the Astros at 17-18 and the Brewers at 19-18.
The bookmakers' odds for Game 2 between the Brewers and Astros were extremely accurate, setting the Game Total line at 7.5 and the Brewers as slight favorites at -120, and the game ended 3-4 in favor of Milwaukee. The Brewers produced all the runs they needed in the first inning, four thanks to an RBI double by Hoskins and a two-run home run by Bauers. In the seventh, the Astros responded with a three-run home run by Rodgers, his first of the season, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
The well-known Framber Valdez will start Game 3 for the Astros, hoping to avoid a sweep. He has a 1-4 record. His April 8 start against the Mariners remains his best of the season, as he pitched six scoreless innings and struck out eight, but other starts have generally been poor.
