Ahead of the fun and games at Wimbledon, which is now less than a week away, there's action on the Spanish island of Mallorca, where the Mallorca Championships presented by Ecotrans Group are taking place in Santa Ponsa. On Thursday, recent tournament winner Gabriel Diallo takes on Tallon Griekspoor in a match between two players currently ranked inside the top 50.
For Gabriel Diallo, it's been an explosive start to the grass-court season, with the Canadian winning the event in s-Hertogenbosch, before continuining to play well. Sure, he exited at the second-round stage at Queen's but he lost to the eventual finalist, while he's since boucne back nicely with two decent wins in Mallorca. He'll be hoping to continue his form by beating a player that has so far played just one grass-court match in 2025. Given the Dutch player's lack of recent tennis on this surface, it could (and probably should) be another pleasing outing for the man now ranked 41st in the world.
