The first game of the MLB season will take place at PNC Park on Friday, and it will be between teams at the bottom of their respective divisions: the Pirates with a 54-74 record and the Rockies with the worst record in the MLB at 37-91.
The Pirates already played the Rockies at altitude in Colorado in a home run-filled series where all three games resulted in a Game Total of OVER. Pittsburgh's O'Neil Cruz had a hitting feast in that series in Colorado, which, however, the Rockies won two games to one. One of the biggest comebacks occurred in Game 1 of that series: the Pirates started leading 9-0 and lost 17-6.
The Rockies, in the last series, ended the Dodgers' dominance over them, snapping a 10-game winning streak by Los Angeles. They split the 4-game series 2 apiece in Colorado. In Friday's game, Doyle hit his 13th home run of the season in a 5-9 loss.
Even so, the Rockies are going through their best stretch of the year, having won seven of their last ten games. However, the Pirates are the overwhelming betting favorites for Friday's game.
