What was supposed to be a pitching duel between Ragans and Crochet ended up not being so in Game 2 between the Red Sox and Royals, as it was a one-game showdown with the Red Sox winning 10-1 and collecting 15 hits.
The series will then be decided on Sunday, with the final game to determine a winner, and the pitching duel is presumed to be Giolito for the Reds and Lugo for the Royals.
Even in defeat, the Royals, thanks almost entirely to their elite starting pitching and strong relief, are the hottest team in the MLB over the last 15 days. However, the competition is once again fierce in the AL Central because in that same time frame, the Tigers, Twins, and Guardians have also fared quite well.
