In an anticipated series between the Braves and Red Sox, the Boston Red Sox debuted their City Connect uniforms, and Red Sox fans couldn't have asked for a better pitching duel in Game 1. Former Red Sox pitcher and now Cy Young Award winner with the Braves, Sale, was returning to Fenway Park against new ace and Sale's replacement, Garree Crochet, two pitchers who were also part of the White Sox.
