Un choc à venir lors de cette neuvième journée de Championship ! Avant un samedi chargé comme souvent en seconde division anglaise, Sunderland et Leeds United se retrouvent au Stadium of Light afin d’offrir un match spectaculaire aux amoureux du football dans le Royaume. Candidats à la montée au mois de mai prochain, les deux camps vont se disputer trois points importants lors des 90 prochaines minutes. Vainqueur de Derby County avec la manière le week-end dernier (2-0), le groupe entraîné par Régis Le Bris a retrouvé les sensations du début de saison après une période plus délicate peu après la trêve internationale. Toujours aussi souverains devant leurs supporters, les Black Cats comptent enchaîner une quatrième victoire de suite à domicile, de manière à rester en tête du championnat. 

Il ne faut pas que l'enthousiasme des locaux prennent le dessus sur le sérieux nécessaire lors d’une rencontre de football. En effet, les Peacocks surfent sur de bons résultats et sortent d’un nul convaincant face à Norwich le week-end dernier. Même si les hommes dirigés par Daniel Farke auraient aimé prendre trois unités, ces derniers n’ont pas perdu, ce qui était un problème récurrent pour l’ancien pensionnaire de Premier League depuis la reprise. Avec deux buts marqués en moyenne et un taux de confiance élevé, les Whites possèdent les armes nécessaires pour faire chuter le leader du championnat.
