Our Fabian Marozsan vs Stan Wawrinka Prediction
Fresh off a quarterfinal stint, Fabian Marozsan hopes to build more momentum at the ATP 1000 Shanghai Masters. Marozsan is 19-21 against the ATP top-100 but he’s 6-2 against players ranked outside this top-100 list this year.
Wawrinka has had two encouraging results at the Rennes and Tropez Challenger. However, the Swiss is only 1-9 against the ATP top-100 this year. The last time Wawrinka faced a top-100 player, he was absolutely destroyed by the 99th ranked Thiago Agustin Tirante 3-6, 3-6.
There’s no doubt that Wawrinka still possesses the skills and experience to give younger opponents a good fight. However, playing with a 40-year-old body makes winning against quality opposition harder than it has ever been in his illustrated career. On Wednesday, Wawrinka will be once again reminded that father time is undefeated. Expect Marozsan to obliterate him, covering -5.5 games (+275).
Our betting prediction for Stanislas Wawrinka vs. Fabian Marozsan: Fabian Marozsan -5.5 Games
