The out-of-form Liverpool couldn't have faced a tougher test at this point than an away trip to the San Siro to turn around their abysmal form. With just three points clear of the UCL qualification playoff zone and only three games left to play, The Reds cannot afford another loss. Yet their season performances say otherwise. Will Liverpool prevail or collapse again?

Salah-Less Liverpool Fights To Stay Alive in the UCL

Salah’s outburst following his third consecutive start on the bench last weekend against Leeds United has left him out of favour with the coach, and consequently out of the team to face Inter Milan today. How will Salah's absence affect Liverpool's winning chances? Find out in our Inter Milan vs Liverpool prediction.

The Reds legend publicly expressed displeasure with the club and coach, Arne Slot, over his reduced play time just after signing a new contract with the club in the summer. Slot hit back by leaving the Egyptian from the lineups against Inter, which could very well affect Liverpool's chances of winning this game.

The rift comes at the worst possible time for Liverpool, as they desperately need to pick up points to secure a playoff spot or qualification spot. While The Red are undefeated in their last three games, they've now won only one of their last six, with three losses in that run.

Without the Egyptian, who led The Reds to the league title with the most goals (29) and assists (18) in the entire EPL last season, The Reds face an uphill battle of beating Inter on the road. However, the coach should deservedly look to switch things up from the lineup that featured in Liverpool's 4-1 humiliation at home to PSV in the last round of the UCL.

Inter Milan Eyes Top of the UCL Table With Home Win

Inter have been almost flawless in the UCL so far, recording four wins and a loss in five games. Their only defeat was a well-contested 2-1 loss to Atletico Madrid in the last round, which was an away game.

They've won both games at home in the Champions League, beating Kairat (2-1) and Slavia Praha (3-0). Inter also beat Ajax (2-0) in the first round and USG (4-0) shortly after to record 12 goals and 3 conceded in their 2025/26 campaign. There's no doubt they enter as the favorites according to the best betting odds.

Still, it will be an equally tough task for the Italian team despite Liverpool traveling without their star right winger. Big teams have been a problem for Inter all season, with four of their five defeats this season coming against Juventus, Napoli, AC Milan, and Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool definitely has all the ingredients to upset last season's UCL runner-up. Both Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike are expected to start, and that strike partnership is something Inter must keep at bay for the entire 90 minutes if they hope to win this game smoothly.
