At more than 182km, Stage 14 of the Tour de France covers the longest distance of any mountain stage. On top of that, it includes the famous Col du Tourmalet, one of the most famous climbs in France. Our prediction can only feature the strongest of men.
If Tadej Pogacar wants to win this stage, he will. He is just so far ahead of the rest of the field at present, winning both Stage 12 and 13 with absolutely chunks in hand. Team Visma failed to break him on Stage 12, so they might need a change of tactics if Jonas Vingegaard is to have any hope of winning the tour.
It would take a seriously strong rider to get away in a break and hold on, but if Visma are not setting a crazy pace behind, perhaps there is a chance of a few riders sneaking far enough clear.
Bruno Armirail was the last man to be caught from the break on Stage 12, the fourth breakaway he had been a part of. He attacked on the stage out of Pau last year, so he looks like heading up the road.
He could be there to help his teammate, Felix Gall, who sits ninth in the overall standings, but is almost 12 minutes behind Pogacar. The favourites are unlikely to worry if he attacks, and this is a stage that will suit him.

- Stage 14 is 182.6km in length.
- There are more than 5000m of vertical climbing to be done on Stage 14, including two Hors Category climbs. This is a day for the true mountain goats.
- In 2024, Stage 14 started in Pau, climbed the Col du Tourmalet and had a mountaintop finish. That stage is similar to this (1000m more climbing in 2025) and was won by Tadej Pogacar.
- Pogacar already has four stage wins, looking almost unbeatable on the climbs.

The domindance of Tadej Pogacar could well continue on Stage 14 of the Tour de France. He has been absolutely outstanding over the last two stages and in that level of form again, there is not a rider in the peloton who is capable of getting hime beaten.
