Presentation of Ligue 2

Ligue 2, or Domino's Ligue 2, is the second division championship in France, the one placed just below the L1. With 20 teams competing, the French L2 is renowned for being one of the most difficult D2 in Europe, due to its homogeneity and the defensive rigor of most of its teams. At the end of the season, the clubs that finish in the first two places are automatically promoted to the first division, while the last two are relegated to National 1. The club ranked 18th must face a club of the lower level in a round-trip playoff.

Little news, this seasons clubs ranked from third to fifth place will play end-of-season Playoffs, to determine who will face the 18th Ligue 1. So, at the end of the season, the 5th faces the 4th, before the resulting winner faces the 3rd in a final match. At the end of the Playoffs, the winning club meets L1 formation in round and round barrages. Last year it was Strasbourg who was crowned champion, ahead of Amiens and Troyes.

Key stats of Ligue 2

What you need to know before betting on Ligue 2 is that it is not really one of the most prolific. Despite all the hassle that every weekend is witnessing, the scoreboards are often poor, and the 2.48 goals average per game of last year makes no one dream. No wonder then that only 41% of the matches result in a victory of the premises: it is hard to score and entertain the public in the second division!

Play on the N2

If our Ligue 2 experts were to give you reliable advice, it would surely be try as much N2 as possible. In the past year, by counting the ratio of invalid matches (30.3%) and those of away victories (28.7%), last year resulted in 60% Nil or 2 season. A colossal figure - 6 games out of 10.

Betting on Ligue 2

Playing on goals can be a great solution if you want to win your bets on Ligue 2 . With attractive odds ranging around 2.00 and 1.60, standard bets " -1.5 goals in the match " and " -2.5 goals in the match " Quickly become interesting. As evidence last year, almost one-third of the matches ended in scores of one goal or less, 56% for those with 2 or fewer goals.

Important numbers to note, such as those on the most frequent scores of this Domino's Ligue 2. In the past season, hold on, one game out of four ended on a score of 1 -1 or 0-0. A crazy proportion, which can be explained not only by the tactical dimensions of the competition, but also by the difficulties to score for each formation. If you are fond of exact scores, there is no need to hesitate for a second!

Finally, and to keep in mind in view of the nice odds offered by the bookmakers, do not hesitate either to orient yourself towards the bet " Goal after the 75th minute ". Indeed, the latter is too often neglected despite odds oscillating around 1.80, and it does not cease to validate week after week. It's very simple, last year 24% of the goals were scored in the last quarter of an hour. Crazy no?

The forces present for 2017-2018

After a stunning end-of-season season that saw Amiens snatch their climb at the last minute to the detriment of Lens, Ligue 2 still promises to be fiercely contested this season. What will the Lorient Merlus give, relegated for the first time in a long time? Will Lens finally manage to find the elite? Can a promoted side still create the feat? So many questions that will rhythm your football prognostications and your evenings with Ligue 2.

Brest and Lens: regulars

Both of them at a small point of the climb, Stade Brestois and RC Lens will still be among the favourites to promote this season. The experience is there, the enthusiasm of the public is felt and to top it all the mercato promises beautiful things. On the Brittany side, Autret, Fabri, Pi and Weber arrived, similarly for Lemos and the serial striker Lendric on the artesian side.

Lorient and Auxerre: to follow

Descendent of Ligue 1, Lorient will be one of the teams to be followed this season. With the arrival of a Mickaël Landreau.
