Group F action in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will commence on Tuesday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford as Brazilian club Fluminense will face Germany’s Borussia Dortmund. This is match nine of this year’s tournament, and our prediction is for both Tricolor and Der BVB to score goals.
Korea’s Ulsan HD and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns are the other teams in the group, with the top two teams making it to the knockout stage.
Fluminense qualified for the tournament as the winners of the 2023 Copa Libertadores. They had previously played in the 2023 Club World Cup when they finished runners-up to Manchester City.
They are unbeaten in six matches coming into this tournament (W5, D1) and are locked in a tight battle domestically, sitting four points away from leaders Flamengo.
Dortmund had an amazing end to their domestic season, winning six matches in a row, including five in the league. That raised their standings domestically and saw them finish fourth to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
As they make their debut in this competition, Der BVB will look to carry that momentum and make a mark. There’s so much activity off the field for Dortmund already, with Jobe Bellingham (Jude’s brother) joining the club and Jamie Gittens in the midst of a transfer battle with Chelsea.
