For the 10th time this season, Burnley have the chance to try and get their first win in the Premier League when they host Brentford. Burnley are currently placed 18th with four points while 12th placed Brentford have 12 points ahead of this game. Burnley suffered yet another setback ahead of this game, losing 1-0 to Tottenham in the League Cup, a third game in which they failed to score in the last four outings. They have conceded two goals in each of three of the last five matches and do not have a very good scoring run. In the league so far, they’ve only scored more than bottom placed Norwich. In the last 12 league matches, Burnley haven’t won any and they have just two wins in the last 18. At home, they have no win in the last 14 league games.

Brentford are the best performing side among the promoted teams and they go to this game on a better run compared to Burnley. They registered a 2-1 win over Stoke City in the League Cup on Wednesday, their second win in four matches but have no clean sheet in the last five games. In three of those five matches, Brentford have scored two or more goals and only failed to score in one of the last seven. In the Premier League, a lot of improvement will be needed as they have two straight losses ahead of this game, though those came against very tough opposition – Chelsea and Leicester City. They are unbeaten in their four away league matches this season and have two straight wins in there.
